Eksman

Eksman is the stage name of Kevin Forrester, a drum & bass MC from Brockley in South London, born in 1980. He started out in 1996 and spent years writing, polishing his performance and sharpening his lyrics before pushing to the front of the drum and bass scene. His first big break came in 2003, when he was named Best Newcomer at both the Knowledge Magazine Awards and the Accelerated Culture Awards. The following year he took the Best Lyrical MC title from Skibadee, an award that drew votes from eleven thousand people worldwide.

That run continued with recognition from the wider scene and radio: Eksman won Best MC at the BBC Radio 1Xtra Online Awards, and featured as the first guest on the station. On record he's worked alongside some of drum and bass's best-known names, collaborating with DJ Zinc on Drive by Car and releasing tracks like Bad Man and They Don't Know, which became scene staples. He's also the brother of jungle producer Remarc, keeping the family rooted deep in the genre's history. On the mic, expect rapid-fire lyrics, sharp crowd work and the kind of hosting style built from years on rave stages rather than studio polish alone.

Across his career Eksman has shared bills with the likes of Roni Size, DJ Hype, Nicky Blackmarket, Grooverider, DJ Rap and Kenny Ken, and he's a regular at clubs including
