GRAND EMPIRE
About GRAND EMPIRE
Grand Empire sits on Rushey Green in Catford, in a building that previously housed the Catford Constitutional Club pub and, before that, an Argos store. It reopened in December 2025 as a modern bar that also contains a restaurant, grill, events space and rooftop shisha lounge. The venue is run by Empire Lounge Services Ltd and includes an upstairs club and lounge area used for ticketed parties.
Music-wise, it's built around Afrobeats, hip-hop and R&B, with nights regularly billing themselves around bashment, hip-hop and Afrobeats crossovers. Listed capacity for events here runs up to around 500, and the space has hosted big one-off nights such as New Year's Eve parties pulling four-figure crowds. There's also an all-day food side to the venue, with African and Nigerian dishes alongside burgers and grill options, so it functions as a restaurant by day before switching into club mode later on.
Upcoming dates lean heavily on Halloween, with several separate promoters running parties here on the same night, plus regular bashment-focused sessions. Expect door policies typical of this kind of London venue, including age restrictions and physical ID requirements, so it's worth checking the specific event listing before heading down.
