Boisdale, Canary Wharf
About Boisdale, Canary Wharf
Boisdale of Canary Wharf sits on the first and second floors of an Art Deco building overlooking the fountains at Cabot Square, close to Canary Wharf station. It's primarily known as a restaurant and live music venue, with nightly jazz, blues and soul in the main restaurant, Jools Holland as its Patron of Music, and one of the UK's largest whisky bars. The restaurant floor seats up to 250, with the whole venue able to take up to 500 for a standing event.
For club nights and DJ sets, the action moves to the first-floor Hine Bar & Garden Terrace, a heated, awning-covered space that's become the spot for weekend parties. That's where the Hine After Hours sessions and one-off disco, electro and house nights such as Le Freak run, alongside tributes like the Lennon-themed show on the main stage. The terrace has its own speaker set-up so the music carries outside as well as in.
It's a smart, dressed-up crowd rather than a late-night warehouse vibe, and the venue also does cigar terraces and a walk-in humidor if you fancy a break from the dancefloor. Worth knowing before you go: tables and tickets are often needed for the music nights given the dining-led layout.
