About XOYO

XOYO is a nightclub in London, set on Cowper Street near Old Street station in Shoreditch. Built inside a converted print works, the two-room, 800-capacity venue is known for a split-level layout with an underground, minimalist feel, and has long combined club nights with live gigs across the week.

The venue opened its doors in 2010, and was relaunched in 2012 after being bought and renovated by The Columbo Group. In 2014 it introduced a residency format that saw selected DJs curate the Saturday night programme for three-month stretches, starting with names such as Eats Everything, Jackmaster, The 2 Bears and Simian Mobile Disco; Eats Everything became the club's first official resident in January 2015. The same year, XOYO launched Gloria's, a mixed gay and straight night run with the East London collective Sink the Pink.

Over the years XOYO's bookings covered a wide stretch of electronic music, from house and techno through to drum & bass, UK garage and bassline, alongside disco and live acts. Residencies and guest sets came from artists including Andy C, Goldie, Flava D, Benji B, Skream, Bicep, DJ Harvey and Calibre, and the club worked with labels and crews such as RAM Recordings and Your Mom's House. This broad, quality-led booking policy helped it build a reputation as one of London's more consistently interesting clubbing destinations, and it was voted into DJ Mag's Top 100 Clubs list by readers in 2020.

Ownership changed hands more than once in the 2020s: entertainment company TEG MJR ran the venue from 2021, a sister site, XOYO Birmingham, opened in autumn 2023, and in 2025 the London club was acquired by Propaganda Independent Venues, a group set up by the founders of Propaganda and TEG. A two-month refurbishment followed, bringing a new Void soundsystem and a full redesign of the basement and the upstairs room, now renamed The Jungle. XOYO reopened under its new owners on 31 January 2026, continuing to operate as a nightclub and live music venue in Shoreditch.
