The story of Pacha London

Pacha London was the UK outpost of the Ibiza superclub brand, based in Victoria, central London, directly next to the mainline and Underground station. The venue traded on the Pacha name's Balearic reputation, with the operator describing it as bringing the spirit of Ibiza hedonism to the capital, and it became known as one of the larger dedicated clubbing spaces in London at the time.

The club opened its doors in 2001, occupying a site that, as one guide to the venue wryly noted, was previously a bus depot rather than a purpose-built nightclub. It built its reputation on house, trance and techno sounds with an Ibiza feel-good factor, and quickly became a fixture for big production club nights. In its early-to-mid life it was known as a large, open two-room space with a very high ceiling, well suited to the aerial performers and spectacle-driven productions that were part of its early identity.

Over the years Pacha London hosted a run of well-known branded nights, including Hed Kandi, Too Darn Glam and Fabulush, alongside its own in-house Pacha Prive events. In 2013 the venue underwent a significant refurbishment, moving away from the big open-room format towards a multi-room layout including a new chill-out space called the Global Room, reflecting how clubbing tastes had shifted towards more varied, DJ-focused experiences. Guest DJs across its run included mainstream-leaning house names such as Felix Cartal and Chris Lake, as well as other international bookings typical of the brand's glossy, high-production approach.

Pacha London announced its closure in 2014, with the club holding its final events in late September of that year after 13 years in Victoria, citing a need to take a new direction to match changing London club trends. The building briefly hosted a pop-up called The Qube Project before being vacated by the Pacha brand entirely. The Pacha Group later returned to London in 2021 with a different concept, Lío, at the former Café de Paris site, rather than reviving the Victoria club. The original Terminus Place site has since been redeveloped and now operates as Market Halls Victoria, a food hall rather than a nightclub.
