Electric Studios

Electric Studios sits on Leadmill Road in Sheffield city centre, in the building that was home to The Leadmill for 45 years before it closed in 2025. Electric Studios opened on 13 March 2026, after a major £2m refurbishment and under new ownership, with an increased capacity of 1,050. For club nights that capacity rises further, with reports putting it at over a thousand for gigs, closer to fifteen hundred for club nights. The venue has two spaces to look out for: a main room with a serious lighting rig and stage, plus a smaller second room with its own stage and bar, more intimate.

Since reopening, the booking policy leans heavily on house, techno, tech house and electro, alongside pop and bassline nights, drawing both touring DJs and local promoters. Recent and upcoming line-ups have included Dusky, Horse Meat Disco, Di Chiara Brothers and Sheffield bassline specialists, reflecting an eclectic approach that mixes big-name club nights with grassroots local bookings.

Given the building's history as one of Sheffield's best-known venues, Electric Studios carries plenty of heritage even in its new form, with a focus on reconnecting the building with its 1980s legacy as a cornerstone of the city's artistic life. Expect a full calendar of club nights, gigs and one-off events, with accessibility and production standards given a notable upgrade as part of the refurbishment.
