NX

Good enough information confirmed. Now writing the guide.

NX sits on Westgate Road in the heart of Newcastle, in the building that's been through several lives as a cinema, the Majestic Ballroom, the Carling Academy and then the O2 Academy before reopening under its current name in September 2022 after a refurbishment. It's run by the Electric Group, which also operates Electric Brixton and SWX in Bristol, and the venue is known for mixing touring live acts with a strong club programme across its main room and a smaller upstairs space.

On the electronic side, NX has built a reputation for house and electro bookings, and the listings here reflect that range: Folamour and Enzo Siragusa headline across late October, alongside bass-driven sets from AZYR b2b PARTBOI69 and East End Dubs in November. There's also room for something different, from Dave Pearce's trance anthems day party to the Halloween-themed Project Halloween Newcastle, so the genre mix stays broad across any given month.

With a capacity that stretches up towards 2,000 for club nights, NX can handle both big-name crossover bookings and more niche, dancefloor-focused promoters without losing its feel. If you're after house, electro or something a little leftfield in Newcastle city centre, it's worth keeping an eye on what's coming up here.
