The Limelight 1
About The Limelight 1
Limelight 1 is part of the long-running Limelight complex on Ormeau Avenue in Belfast city centre, a live music and club venue that has initially opened in 1987. The site was renamed to Limelight 1 in late 2012 following a major refurbishment, as part of the Spring and Airbrake becoming Limelight 1, with its sister room Limelight 2 next door and Katy's Bar in between.
The wider complex is best known for breaking new bands and hosting indie and rock club nights, though Limelight 1 itself has become the venue's dedicated space for modern club nights and DJ-led sets, pulling in sold-out shows. Capacity for Limelight 1 is commonly put at around 750, making it a solid mid-sized room for a big night out without losing the up-close feel.
On the listings front, expect a steady diet of Afrobeats and electro nights through autumn 2026, with Silva Bumpa, GASKIN and Jowi's Teletech X Shine all booked in October, followed by Partiboi69, Day Fever, Sam Alfred and Sasha across November. It's a good pick if you're after dancefloor-focused nights in a venue with decades of history behind it, right in the heart of Belfast.
