Club Spotlight – Printworks

Printworks is one of the most talked about venues of 2017. Located on a 16 acre site in Canada Water in London’s Docklands this 5,000 capacity venue was once used as a printing facility. Spread across 6 different spaces on multiple levels much of the original layout and machinery has been retained and its industrial setting perfectly mirrors London’s underground music scene. In addition to a nightclub the venue also offers space for art, fashion food and immersive theater.

Printworks opened in January 2017 and so far has hosted some of the hottest DJ’s at the moment including Nina Kraviz, Daphni, Ben Klock and Seth Troxler. The opening series of shows took place each Saturday within the soundproofed Press Halls area of the former newspaper factory.

Although the venue is super industrial, perfect for a dirty techno night, the level of production is amazingly slick. No expense has been spared on the lasers and light show…and the long thin room and high ceiling gives the club a really different atmosphere. The main room, the Press Hall, is fully-fitted with L-Acoustics loudspeakers, an automated lighting truss that makes the most of the vast heights and over 100 lasers and spotlights to illuminate the dramatic industrial features.

This is certainly a club that you need to experience, dates for the rest of this year can be found on their website www.printworkslondon.co.uk
