JOOP – Act Of God (Ed Lynam Remix)

INTRODUCTION:
After our Golden Trancelation of Rank 1’s Airwave, we are diving back into another ID&T classic. This is by the one & only JOOP 🇳🇱, present in the scene since the late 90s and also an ID&T roster artist, alongside legends like Rank 1, Marco V, & Marcel Woods. Speaking of labels, in 2014 he formed ‘Airborne Artists Agency’, which is also a booking agency, where he got to meet talents like Daniel Wanrooy, Sherano & Amber Revival. When it comes to his productions, his first original ever ‘Act Of God’ (2002) stands out. The Tech Trancer came with production and aesthetics ahead of its time, and even with a harder edit! Aside from that, he’s behind the 2007 Trance Energy Anthem ‘The Future’ & tunes like Sonzuz & 3008 that were remixed by legends such as Rank 1 & Leon Bolier. Let’s stay on the same page and transition to Ed Lynam 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿 🇮🇪 who’s on remix duty today! Known for his Hard & Tech Trance fusion, he released on various labels including FSOE, Discover, & Radiation. He’s also the owner of Adrenalin Sessions and resident at Trance Sanctuary!

PRODUCTION:
It starts with a rolling bassline that combines with the vocal samples from the original, and that synergy results in a techy first climax. The riffs seem to have an uplifting tinge, but they also fill the gaps for Ed Lynam’s twist: bouncy Hard Trance and psychedelic use of the “virus” vox! As we rush to the breakdown, we witness 2021’s Act Of God, also featuring vocal fills and supersaw melodies from JOOP’s mixes. It’s quite a short breakdown but it bursts with a powerful buildup that shines an uplifting spotlight on the melody we just heard, and it leads to another climax. Ed doesn’t end it here… he transports you to an acidic Hard Tech hybrid climax that entrances the age of the title!

CONCLUSION:
We love how Ed utilized both the original & Hard Trance edit, encapsulating them with his signature. An even more interesting fact is that his remix involved some new vocals! With ‘virus’ used a lot on JOOP’s mix, he added a male voice pertaining to the current pandemic.
