This EP consists of 4 awesome tracks:

01. Shroud – Peach (Original Mix)

02. Shroud – Cluster (Original Mix)

03. Shroud – Black Eye (Original Mix)

04. Shroud Feat Shadow – Blink (Original Mix)

I thought I would do some research of this London based producer Shroud and I received this quote from Cohesion Records, “Shroud is a mystery for the time being, an alias for a well known trance act”. A bit of mystery and excitement is probably what the trance scene needs and the moment. Anyway let’s dive into the EP. I’m going to review my two favourite tracks of the EP, which is the title track 01. Peach and also 03. Black Eye.

Firstly Peach it’s just over 6 minutes 40, and shroud comfortably packs a lot into this track. After the intro the track builds and then drops to reveal the melody plucked on a piano and then just before the first breakdown we come across some pads. The breakdown doesn’t make you feel wanting at all just enough, a lot of emotion, with the melody carrying you through to the drop. This track is full of energy and exactly what the doctor ordered.

Second of the two tracks I’d like to talk about is called Black Eye just under 6 minutes 30, and from the first beat you can instantly hear the ferocity of this track. On the first drop we have a vocal stab of some sorts, which we only hear again faintly in the parts of the breakdown and in the main drop after the breakdown. Definitely adds the mystery of the track as well as the producer. The track is full of energy could this quite possibly be a trademark of the mystery producer Shroud?
